TheWaveVR VR Rave at VRLA

Just getting this blog up and running, so we have some backlogged items:

Wow, it’s been quite a journey to here: building a prototype, product plan, assembling an all star team and starting a company. We announced our company and seed funding in the coolest of ways: throwing a VR Rave at VRLA on August 5th, 2016 at the LA Convention Center.

Our goal was to achieve maximum throughput (a huge problem at these VR shows), giving as many people as possible a fully immersive audio visual experience.

We partnered with our good friends at Subpac, 3DLive, and WeLens to move thousands of attendees through a VR Rave where we had a lineup of 8 killer DJ’s from LA play over a span of two days in the HTC Vive, DJing in front of a humungous 3D screen. Attendees wore Subpacs (bass subwoofer vests) and had a choice between donning a locally networked Samsung GearVR or wearing 3D glasses.

At one point I found myself sandwiched between Reggie Watts and Flying Lotus, watching Alluxe kill it in TheWaveVR. Total dream come true- couldn’t have imagined a better coming out party.
